Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Athlete of the Year Honour

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the this year's Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
These three athletes have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the last year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the very first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The three contenders were announced live on a national radio breakfast show.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.
The show will be aired from 19:00 GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She was introduced as a substitute to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.
She was also nominated for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler's 2025 began in incredible form as - while still 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
And he wasn't finished there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.
"Being nominated for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and burst into the spotlight with an remarkable and historic innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more girls to get into cricket."
