Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Known For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved television series including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles on Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per news outlets.
"He considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a message.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find a person who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted on social media.
The actor is survived by his partner Donna, his children, and his family.
