Across the fiercely cutthroat realm of gaming, it's common for emerging rivals to fade away as swiftly as they burst on to the landscape.

Yet the latest Battlefield is striving to alter that.

This is the latest entry in a long-running military shooter franchise often framed as a more realistic answer to its main competitor.

This game has seldom been able to equal its most famous opponent in aspects of units sold or user base, but indicators suggest the recent entry could narrow the difference.

A trial session enabling users a chance to experience the release not long ago achieved milestones, and the hype leading up to its release has been immense.

But the undertaking is still a major gamble for company Electronic Arts, which has allegedly allocated huge sums of dollars developing it.

Reporters have communicated to a number of the creators to learn how they hope it will be profitable.

Development Crew and Company Cooperation

A total of four studios have been developing the project under the unified development umbrella.

They include veteran creator the original team, based in Sweden, California's Motive team and the Canadian studio in the Great White North.

The fourth, Criterion, is situated in the UK.

Building On Past Mistakes

The game comes off the heels of the futuristic Battlefield 2042, published previously to a poor feedback it struggled to recover from.

"We probably would not be able to build and design this new game lacking the learnings we gained in Battlefield 2042," she shares with the press.

A key those insights was to engage fans involved from the start, and the studio launched closed fan trials not long ago.

Their "reaction was incredibly positive," says she.

Another missing element from Battlefield 2042 was a solo experience, which has been reintroduced for this release.

The Guildford team project head Fasahat "Fas" Salim is the person responsible for "making sure those stages are as enjoyable and interesting as possible for the players."

In spite of allegations that the scope of the game had put a strain on the various studios partnering internationally to build the project, Fas is upbeat about the work.

"Collaborating with different backgrounds, varied heritages, it's a truly interesting atmosphere to be engaged with every day," he explains.

"The complete strategy has been something new but also very thrilling because we are collaborating with people from internationally."

Regarding the anticipation on the crew, he says: "We feel demand but at the same time it's exciting.

"It's a large undertaking. It's probably the most significant that the majority of the team have ever been involved in."

New Talent Adds Fresh View

This is definitely accurate of at least a single developer, visual designer Vlad Kokhan.

The recent hire produces the atmospheric effects that influence the tone, style, and direction of the single-player campaign.

He completed an work placement at Criterion before securing a position at the company, and presently operates part-time while completing his visual effects qualification at Bournemouth University.

Vlad explains he's a dedicated supporter of the Battlefield series, and remembers playing the previous game of the franchise at a pal's home when he was a child.

"Understanding that I've put my individual work into the project is really surreal."
