Bullish Celtic's manager insists he is not worried about the sack yet supporters unleash wrath after defeat.
The under-pressure manager declared he did not fear losing his job, claiming, “We are really close to changing our fortunes,” despite sliding worryingly close to the chopping block with a convincing loss to their arch-rivals.
Another Meltdown Results in Old Firm Disaster
Celtic were in front their oldest rivals at the break but a disastrous second period let the Gers to draw level on points with the current Scottish Premiership champions. The French coach, who was brought in from the MLS, has now been in charge for six defeats in his last eight fixtures.
“The board and I are united at the club,” said the manager.
Pressed on whether he was concerned, the 48-year-old replied: “That’s not my focus. I think about working out methods to aid my players to be good on details.
Fan Fury Outside Parkhead
Celtic’s support made their feelings clear – directed at the board and manager – by protesting at Parkhead. The hierarchy are reportedly likely to return to Martin O’Neill, who steered the club during a caretaker period last year, if the Frenchman were sacked.

“Really, Really Close”
The coach highlights the fact the side can perform strongly for 45 minutes at a time. For instance, but for missed chances they would have been more than 1-0 up. “There were positives except the fact that we haven’t scored more goals,” he said. “I know that we lost, but I have also to be balanced.
“The performance we had at certain moments was really, really, really high. This is the reality. And I would not say that if it was untrue. “We produced many, many good things that we did, once more. However it’s about performing for 90 minutes. My outlook would be different if it was not the case. Therefore I firmly believe the team can to fix this.”
Röhl’s Cautious Stance
The victorious boss was cautious about a title charge in spite of what seemed like a landmark win. “Step by step, and we can really build up momentum,” he said. “The faith in the group is outstanding.”
